Sydney is getting ready once again for one of the most exciting cultural events of the year – the Korea Day Festival! If you’ve ever wanted to experience the flavors, music, and traditions of Korea right here in Sydney, this is the event you don’t want to miss.
📅 Date: Saturday, 27 September 2025
🕚 Time: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
📍 Location: Burwood Park, Sydney
🙌 Hosted by: The Korean Society of Sydney Australia Inc.
This annual festival has become a true highlight of Sydney’s cultural calendar. Every year it draws people of all ages and backgrounds, creating a space where everyone can enjoy Korean food, music, games, and traditions together.
Last year I only managed to stop by late in the day, so this year I’m planning to go earlier – mainly so I can grab some good food before the queues get too long! 😋
What to Expect at Korea Day 2025
🍜 K-Food Street
No Korean festival would be complete without food! From spicy tteokbokki and sizzling bulgogi to classic kimchi and sweet street snacks, K-Food Street will be packed with delicious treats. It’s the perfect place to taste your way through Korea.
🎶 Performances & K-POP
Get ready for a mix of traditional Korean performances alongside modern K-POP acts. The main stage will be buzzing all day, and there’s even a talent show where anyone can join in – singing, dancing, instruments, even magic! With prizes up for grabs, it’s bound to be entertaining whether you’re performing or just cheering from the crowd.
🏃 Family Fun & Traditional Games
For families (or anyone who’s young at heart), the Hanmadang Sports events are always a hit. You’ll find old-school Korean games like yutnori, jegichagi (Korean hacky sack), tuho (arrow throwing), and more. It’s a fun way to experience the traditions many Koreans grew up with, right in the middle of Sydney.
🧵 Cultural Experiences
Beyond food and performances, there will be plenty of booths where you can try on hanbok (traditional Korean clothing), explore Korean crafts, and get a hands-on taste of Korean culture. It’s a great chance to bring along friends who are fans of K-POP, K-drama, or just curious about Korean culture.
With just a couple of weeks to go, I’m already looking forward to this year’s Korea Day Festival. It’s always such a vibrant, welcoming event – a true celebration of culture, food, and community.
If you’re in Sydney, make sure to mark your calendar for Saturday, September 27 at Burwood Park. I’ll see you there! 🙌
